Welcome to CPCS
The mission of Chesapeake Public Charter School is to offer each student a unique educational experience within a reflective learning community. Through a modified school calendar, multi-age students in small class settings will engage in a curriculum of meaningful connections and diverse perspectives. This engagement will be achieved using technology, the environment, the arts and community resources. This school will provide a safe, orderly, caring and joyful reflective atmosphere in which respect for all is evident and the outcome of empowered, self-directed learners is expected. Our goal is to build a solid foundation for higher education and the desire to continue learning, growing, sharing, and contributing in multiple capacities throughout each person’s life.
Monetary donations are always welcome. Make an online payment using this PayPal link. You can choose whether you would like to make a one-time donation, or whether you would prefer to make a recurring, monthly donation of a smaller amount. The Chesapeake Charter School Alliance is a non-profit with 501(c)(3) status with the IRS; all donations made to us are tax-deductible to you.
Thank you for all you do for CPCS. I look forward to seeing many of you at a fundraising event in the New Year! Shannon Norris
Alliance Information Sessions
Welcome back after what I hope was a combination of rest and adventure from a summer that seems to have gone by too fast. As the newly elected Chesapeake Charter School Alliance Board Chair I am excited to see your students come through the doors tomorrow! We will have an Alliance/Volunteer information table at the school gym tomorrow to help with any questions you might have. This is also where you will want to sign-up to become an Alliance member which gains you voting rights and helps support the Alliance and pledge your contribution to deliver an exceptional educational experience for your students. You can also learn about volunteering opportunities so that you can be a part of the experience. The Alliance membership form and pledge form are attached.
We are offering Alliance Information Sessions for not only new but also any returning families that would like more information about the school and Alliance. These are informal sessions that allow you to talk directly with staff and board members to learn information and ask questions. Please join us!
Sessions will be in the café on the following days:
- Thursday 8/15 8:45 am
- Friday 8/16 8:45 am
- Tuesday 8/20 6:30 pm
While your students are being challenged with a new school year, teacher, classwork I challenge each of you to become more involved and invest in your school community this coming year. There are many ways to be involved and we are open to new ideas and suggestions with your help and enthusiasm. We are hoping for 100% participation and I promise you the reward will be more than you give.
Please do not hesitate to contact me or any of this years board should you need anything.
Off we go!
